2013 League Highlights

Congratulations!

September 11, 2013 - We had many winners in our season-ending "Money Hole" skills competition! Closest-to-the-Pin awards for Holes 2 and 4 were earned by Don Anctil and Peter Dee, respectively. Henry Doherty hit the Longest Drive on Hole 7. Tony Tavilla won the Best Hole Score on Hole 1 on a blind draw tie-break over Rusty Lorenzen, Dick Fields and Peter Dee (all birdies). Rusty Lorenzen won the Best Hole Score on Hole 5 on a blind draw tie-break over Mike Zurawski (both pars). Tom Damon was the only 3-6-9 Red Tee Birdie Hole winner (for Hole 9). No one earned the On-In-One competition on Hole 8. Sam Aronie was the Leftover Cash HG award winner!

September 4, 2013 - Rusty Lorenzen and Mike Zurawski won our 2013 League Championship with an 18-hole 40-32 victory over Ken Marion and Tony Tavilla.

September 4, 2013 - Henry Doherty (-2) and Peter Dee (-1) won our Two-Man Blind Draw Net Medal event with a combined net score of 3-under-par. Brian Keith completed a fine 4-under-par individual effort as Ethan Aronie finished at 2-under-par.

Golfer Finds Root of All Evil!

August 28, 2013 - Henry Doherty hit a 6-iron shot into the bunker left of the 6th green. The ball was approximately 6 yards from the flagstick. The subsequent shot flew over the green and landed about 60 yards away. The cause of the errant shot was a tree root found to be just under the sand less than one inch directly beneath the ball. The ominous 6-6-6 combination of details leads to only one conclusion ... Henry had found the Root of All Evil!

Sub-40 Rounds!

Brian Sheehan carded a 39 on May 1 as well as a 38 on June 12, both on the back nine, for our first two sub-40 rounds of the season! Rusty Lorenzen posted a back nine 39 on July 24! Don Rugg posted a back nine 37 on August 7! Teammates Brian Sheehan and Dick Fields scored 38 and 36, respectively, on the back nine on August 21!

April 24, 2013 - Ethan Aronie and Mike Flynn, Mike Zurawski and Rusty Lorenzen, and Tony Tavilla and Ken Marion completed a 3-way tie for first place in our season-opening two-man scramble with front side even-par 36's.

April 24, 2013 - Rusty Lorenzen eagled the par-4 8th hole after hitting his tee shot pin-high, 6 feet right of the pin!
